OneK provides a biodiverse field platform for universities, researchers, and conservation institutions seeking long-term research opportunities.
Research Platform
With exceptional biodiversity and an established field support system, OneK Private Nature Reserve offers
an ideal platform for scientific research in a lowland tropical rainforest setting. The reserve has developed
through years of biodiversity monitoring, habitat protection, and collaboration with researchers working across
different taxonomic groups and ecological questions.
Our research setting is especially suited for institutions seeking a field site that combines biological richness
with practical accessibility. Whether the goal is baseline biodiversity documentation, long-term ecological
observation, species-specific study, or conservation-oriented fieldwork, OneK provides a stable and valuable
environment for academic collaboration.
We welcome universities, laboratories, conservation organizations, and independent researchers interested in
developing projects, conducting surveys, or building long-term partnerships in the reserve.
Research Focus 01
Understanding movement, presence, and ecological relationships in the rainforest
OneK Private Nature Reserve supports a remarkably rich mammal community, including large carnivores,
hoofed mammals, and smaller terrestrial species that together reflect the integrity of the surrounding
ecosystem. This makes the reserve especially valuable for research on tropical mammal diversity,
activity patterns, habitat use, and trophic structure.
To strengthen long-term monitoring, an extensive network of infrared camera traps has been installed
along wildlife trails and other key locations throughout the reserve. These systems provide direct field
records that can support studies in species occurrence, temporal activity, corridor use, behavioral ecology,
and conservation assessment.
For research groups interested in tropical mammal communities, the reserve offers both ecological relevance
and a strong foundation of ongoing observation.
Research Focus 02
A strong platform for documenting tropical arthropod communities
Located in one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, OneK Private Nature Reserve holds extraordinary
potential for insect research. Different microhabitats within the reserve support a wide range of insect
communities, making the site valuable for taxonomic, ecological, and biodiversity-focused studies.
To support this work, a variety of collection and monitoring methods have been established, including
Malaise traps, yellow pan traps, pitfall traps, and light-trapping stations. These tools make it possible
to gather baseline data across habitats and seasons, while also supporting more specialized projects on
individual taxa or ecological interactions.
For research teams working on tropical insects, OneK provides a field environment where long-term
biodiversity documentation can be combined with targeted scientific investigation.
Open invitation
Whether your focus is biodiversity inventory, ecological monitoring, species interactions, tropical field education, or conservation-driven science, OneK offers a setting where research can be both rigorous and deeply grounded in the living rainforest.
